PLA activities in the waters and airspace around Taiwan

1.Date：
6 to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) Friday to Saturday, Jan. 5-6

2.PLA activities：
13 PLA aircraft and 5 PLAN vessels around Taiwan were detected by 06:00 (UTC+8) today. 1 of the detected aircraft had entered Taiwan’s southwestern ADIZ. R.O.C. Armed Forces have monitored the situation and tasked CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and land-based missile systems to respond to these activities.

3.PLA balloons：
Two PRC’s balloons were detected at 12:04 and 13:05 yesterday after crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait at the location 33 nautical miles northwest and 51 nautical miles west of Hsinchu respectively. The balloons’ altitude were approximately 17,000 and 24,000 feet respectively. The balloons headed northeast and sequentially disappeared at 12:57 and 15:37 yesterday.
